SMS function enables professional to request attachments (photos). Once a contact request has been submitted, the handler can then request that the patient attaches up to 5 images.

The enquiry must be moved to “in progress” by the handler before they are then able to click the ``Request attachments” button beneath the “New message” box. The handler can type the patient a message and/or click “send message” (Figure 16). The message thread can be closed, and the user can move to review another case while waiting for a reply. It is important to ensure that the case should remain “in progress” and is not redirected into another unit or the patient will not be able to access the upload link and provide photos.

As a professional user you will be alerted to the arrival of a new image or attachment in the “New message” tab. The presence of the paperclip icon indicates that an image has been attached to an enquiry (Image 2.). The handler and users with permission to the unit have access to the image(s).

To view the image(s), users should select the contact where the attachments will be visible beneath the prerequisite information (Image 3). The images can be reviewed in turn by selecting each image to make them larger. The user is able to delete any images that are not required.  To save the image(s) the user should manually right click and save to their desktop and then upload to the patient's clinical record.
